Introduction

The Information was founded in late 2013 with a simple idea: write deeply reported articles about the technology industry that you won't find elsewhere. Since then, they've moved markets, gotten the early scoop on billions of dollars of acquisitions, and built a reputation as the best tech reporters in the business - and a loyal subscriber base to match. Our Structured Approach

Our initial work with the team at The Information focused on developing their first mobile app, the “Tech Top 10”. The app offered their subscribers a new, lower-priced offering that would still provide the trusted content they had come to expect from the site. The development timeframe was aggressive, as they wanted to launch at their annual conference. We had only 10 weeks to get the product from concept to launch, which included the design, development, and app store submissions for both iOS and Android.

Successful submission process

Within a month, we had a name and designs and were conducting internal tests on the app. After a grueling App Store submission process (which Founder Jessica Lessin documented here), we were able to release on time for both iOS and Android.

Since Release in 2019

Since the initial release in 2019, we’ve worked closely with The Information’s team to augment both their web and mobile development efforts. Together we’ve expanded their app to include all of the content and build new community-focused features where subscribers can connect based on mutual interests. The result is a beautiful mobile interface complete with in-app notifications and other social features that have met or exceeded The Information’s internal success metrics.
